The country needs a certain degree of openness. Closing itself off is no different from stagnation, and the end result will be the same as the Qing Dynasty.
An open attitude is essential for broadening the people’s perspectives, improving their abilities, and enhancing the nation’s strength and the happiness of its citizens.
Currently, China’s blockade on imported films, games, TV shows, and music is akin to stagnation. Although cultural products are entertainment, they are the best channels for a nation’s citizens to broaden their views, knowledge, and experience.
A country that does not align with international standards in the reception and creation of cultural products will undoubtedly have an uninformed and ignorant population, just like North Korea.
Only a free and open market environment can cultivate a strong nation. In such an environment, football, music, film, gaming, and even chips and rockets will flourish and thrive.
Private enterprises are naturally suited to undertake various activities. These activities are where different fields create a variety of high-quality products and services. Film, football, and rockets are undoubtedly areas where private enterprises excel.
Everything can be outsourced to private enterprises. Under a set of good, relaxed, yet strictly enforced regulations, private enterprises can manage all aspects of human society.
The innovation of private enterprises is inherently altruistic, rather than self-serving. Their creative mission is to do good for others and earn rewards in the process, not solely to benefit themselves. Clearly, private enterprises that focus solely on self-interest will not survive in the long run.
